Just In: 42,000 Police Officers Deployed To Abuja For Nationwide Protest

In anticipation of the scheduled nationwide protest, the Federal Capital Territory police command has mobilized a total of 4,200 police officers across the entirety of the national capital.

Additionally, the command has announced the deployment of explosive ordinance device experts at various strategic locations.

In a statement released on Friday by its spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the command stated that the deployment aims to ensure public safety, protect protesters, and prevent any potential hijacking of the protests by non-state actors.

Furthermore, the statement mentioned that there will be targeted operations at identified black spots, uncompleted buildings/shanties, and stop and search activities in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
