PIGGD Urges Nigerians to Postpone Protest Against Tinubu, Advocates for Patience and Constructive Engagement

The PVC Initiative for Good Governance Diaspora (PIGGD) has called on Nigerians to reconsider and postpone the nationwide protest planned against President Bola Tinubu’s administration. According to the group, the protest lacks a clear and valid reason at this time.

In a recent statement, the PIGGD acknowledged the significant difficulties and hardships currently facing the country. They stressed the importance of President Tinubu addressing these issues effectively. However, they argue that launching disruptive protests may not be the most constructive approach to addressing grievances.

Comrade Wisdom Opara, also known as Chukwuemeziem Ekete, who is the president of PIGGD, questioned the basis for the planned protest. He noted that the protest seems to lack specific grievances or demands against the current administration. Opara urged the organizers to clarify their reasons for the protest and the goals they hoped to achieve.

The PIGGD emphasized that while they do not protect the administration from criticism or legal scrutiny, they believe it is crucial to give the new government time to demonstrate its effectiveness. They pointed out that the current administration is still in its early stages, and it would be fair to allow it some time to address the country’s issues and prove its capability.

The group supports protests that are justified and based on clear, specific issues. However, they caution against protests that seem to lack a solid foundation or appear to have underlying political motives. They implied that the planned nationwide protest might be driven by political agendas rather than genuine concerns about governance.

The statement also urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to remain patient and trust the democratic process. The PIGGD called on citizens to avoid falling for political manipulations and to think carefully about the potential consequences of the protest on the general population. They emphasized that while expressing dissent is a fundamental right, it should be done in a way that is constructive and based on genuine issues.

The PIGGD further advised that instead of resorting to nationwide protests, Nigerians should seek alternative methods to address their concerns. They encouraged people to engage in dialogue and use democratic processes to advocate for change. The group believes that constructive engagement and patience are key to navigating the country’s current challenges.

The statement from the PIGGD reflects a broader call for unity and cooperation in addressing the nation’s problems. The group believes that working together and giving the new administration time to implement its policies can lead to positive outcomes for the country. They urge all Nigerians to prioritize national interests over political agendas and to contribute to building a more effective and responsive government.

The PVC Initiative for Good Governance Diaspora has urged Nigerians to postpone the planned protest against President Tinubu, citing the lack of a clear purpose and the potential for political manipulation. They advocate for patience and constructive engagement with the new administration and call on citizens to consider the broader impact of their actions on the nation.
