Arik Air management announced that the airline has resumed operations. Recall that the airline suspended operations after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) grounded three of its aircraft a week ago.
In a statement, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arik Air Limited (Administrator), Mr. Roy Iregbodu, said the airline has worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and seamless resumption of operations during the brief disruption and is preparing to welcome passengers again.
“Our entire team has been working tirelessly to enhance your travel experience. From our friendly ground staff to our attentive flight crews, everyone at Arik Air is ready and eager to serve you once again.”
Recall that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) grounded three of Arik Air’s flagship aircraft following a court order. NCAA also clarified that it has not completely shut down or suspended Arik Air operations, which will continue as planned and did not affect the airline’s ability to operate the remaining fleet.
In an earlier statement, NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Michael Achimugu said the NCAA was bound to comply with the court order that impounded Arik Air’s aircraft (5NMJF, 5NMJQ, and 5NBKX) following a Supreme Court ruling and is seeking to comply with regulatory and safety standards.
“Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) refers to the grounding of three (3) Arik Air aircraft following a Court Order/Attachment.”
