The Ebonyi Central Youth Forum has criticized Senator Ken Eze’s performance during his first year representing the Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone. The group, led by Hon. Clinton Igwe, described his tenure as a complete failure, saying it was disappointing and lacked effective service to the people.
Hon. Igwe stated that the people of the Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone have not seen any meaningful impact from Senator Eze’s work in the National Assembly. He accused Eze of being arrogant and causing additional hardship and economic difficulty for the residents.
Speaking to the media after Eze’s Constituency Briefing in Ezza South Local Government Area, Hon. Igwe expressed frustration over the Senator’s lack of progress. He criticized Eze for bragging about buying exercise books to list the names of vulnerable individuals who received 10,000 Naira in aid. Igwe said it was disgraceful for a Senator to highlight such a small act of assistance.
“We, the youth of the APC from Ebonyi Central, are deeply disappointed with Senator Ken Eze’s representation,” Igwe said. “We were embarrassed when he announced that he used exercise books to record names of people who got 10,000 Naira in support. Rural women who campaigned for him, risking much, were treated poorly. The fertilizers he distributed were far fewer than expected, and even the food aid was inadequate.”
Igwe and others are calling for a vote of no confidence in Eze, accusing him of neglecting his duties and not showing the necessary care and dedication.
An anonymous Ebonyi politician shared his disappointment, saying, “I attended the briefing to see for myself. I spent 20,000 Naira on fuel just to hear a long speech with no results. The Senator announced only 20 bags of fertilizer forwards, each with over 500 participants. It was a disgrace compared to the more generous support from other representatives. Senator Eze’s events seem to be more about showcasing his wealth than providing real assistance.”
In response, Senator Eze’s Media Aide, Mr. Godwin Okafor, dismissed the criticism. He claimed that attendees left the event satisfied and that the fertilizers and financial aid were distributed properly. “The Senator’s event was successful, and those who attended were pleased with the support provided,” Okafor said.
