Peter Obi Responds to 2027 Presidential Campaign Poster with Saraki
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on WhatsappShare on EmailShare on Telegram

A campaign poster circulating online, which features Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, and Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President, has been dismissed by the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) as merely a “figment of people’s imagination.” The poster suggests that Saraki will run for president in 2027, with Obi as his running mate, and includes the slogan, “Let’s restore our country back, come 2027.”

Yunusa Tanko, a spokesman for POMR, addressed the confusion surrounding the poster. He stated, “It’s just people’s imagination. There’s no hint of a presidential run from either Saraki or Obi at this time. Our focus remains on working for the benefit of the people, not on speculative campaign materials.”

The poster has attracted considerable attention online, leading to speculation about potential political alliances and future election strategies. However, both Saraki and Obi have not made any official declarations regarding their intentions for the 2027 presidential election. Saraki is a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Obi is still associated with the Labour Party (LP). Obi had previously defected from the PDP to the LP during the lead-up to the 2023 presidential election.

Saraki’s involvement with the PDP and Obi’s affiliation with the LP have led to varied political expectations and rumors. Despite these speculations, neither politician has confirmed any plans to run for the presidency in 2027. The appearance of the poster has prompted discussions about possible future political strategies and alliances, but it is important to note that no official statements have been made by either Saraki or Obi.

The controversy surrounding the poster highlights the ongoing interest in the 2027 presidential race, even though the candidates have not yet declared their candidacies. The POMR’s response aims to clarify that the poster does not reflect any official campaign plans or political moves.

As the 2027 elections approach, political analysts and the public will likely continue to watch for official announcements from potential candidates. For now, the focus remains on current political activities and the performance of existing officeholders. The speculation surrounding the poster serves as a reminder of the heightened interest in future elections and the potential for various political scenarios to emerge.

The poster featuring Obi and Saraki has been labeled as speculative by POMR, and no formal election campaign has been announced by either politician. The situation underscores the ongoing speculation about future political landscapes and the need for official confirmations from prospective candidates.
