The National Conscience Party (NCP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have formed an electoral alliance with the goal of challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, NCP Lagos State Chairman, Chief Fatai Ibu-Owo, alongside ADC National Secretary and former Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, as well as other party officials, cautioned that Nigeria is increasingly descending into crisis under the APC government.
They highlighted widespread economic hardship, soaring inflation, and rising poverty levels.
They stated that the removal of fuel subsidies has driven fuel prices to unprecedented levels, placing a heavy burden on ordinary Nigerians.
They described the current situation as “a bleeding heart of a nation,” calling for urgent change.
The coalition also condemned what they described as a breakdown of security, pointing to rampant kidnappings, rural banditry, and infringements on civil liberties.
The ADC–NCP alliance argued that the APC government’s failure to safeguard citizens has led to a significant loss of lives.
Beyond economic and security concerns, they accused the APC of weakening democratic institutions and suppressing dissenting voices.
They called on Nigerians to mobilise, participate in community organising, and back independent media.
It declared they are building momentum for a national renewal.
They told Nigerians to begin preparing for a “democratic handover” in 2027, warning Tinubu and his allies, “your time is coming.”
