Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has distributed relief materials, including food and building supplies, to victims of various disasters across the state. The gesture aims to alleviate the hardships faced by those affected by unforeseen events. The distribution, which covered all three senatorial districts of Osun, highlights the administration’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its citizens.
The relief items, which included rice, garri, maize, roofing sheets, and other essential building materials, were distributed at the OSEMA Warehouse behind the Osun State Government Secretariat. The event was overseen by the governor’s Special Adviser on Emergency, Emiola Fakeye, who represented Adeleke. According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, the initiative reflects the governor’s dedication to proactive and responsive emergency management.
In his remarks, Fakeye assured that the state government had sufficient relief materials to reach all the affected victims, whose profiles had already been captured by the officials of the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA). The total value of the relief materials was estimated at several million naira, a clear demonstration of the administration’s resolve to provide immediate support to those in need.
Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to assisting disaster victims and ensuring that no one is left behind in the face of adversity.
