Air India has confirmed that the aircraft involved in the Air India Boeing crash was fully airworthy before takeoff.
According to the airline, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner underwent its last major maintenance check in June 2023.
Air India revealed that both engines were recently serviced, with the right one overhauled in March 2025.
Additionally, the left engine was thoroughly inspected and cleared during scheduled maintenance checks in April 2025.
The airline insisted there were no technical faults detected in the aircraft before the Air India Boeing crash occurred.
The ill-fated flight exploded shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, crashing into a residential area and killing 241 people.
Authorities said the London-bound flight was led by veteran pilot Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, with over 10,000 flight hours.
He was assisted by First Officer Clive Kunder, who had logged more than 3,400 hours of flight experience.
The Indian civil aviation regulator confirmed there were no major safety issues identified in the initial crash report.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau said key site evidence had been collected, and analysis work is ongoing.
As families await answers, DNA testing has identified 210 victims from the Air India Boeing crash so far.
Officials reported the flight carried 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese, one Canadian, and 12 crew members.
Despite the tragedy, Air India maintains that the aircraft’s condition met all international safety and operational standards.
The black boxes, including cockpit voice and flight data recorders, are currently under expert examination by investigators.
India’s aviation safety agency said the investigation is advancing steadily, with more technical reviews expected soon.
