Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has emphasized the importance of speed and accuracy in governance, urging newly sworn-in cabinet members to embrace his administration’s developmental vision.
Speaking in Akure after administering the oath of office to his State Executive Council appointees, Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his commitment to delivering campaign promises swiftly. He stressed that his government is determined to accelerate progress in key sectors to improve the lives of Ondo residents.
The governor outlined his seven-point agenda, tagged “OUR EASE,” as the blueprint for his administration’s policies and programs. He directed cabinet members to align their efforts with this framework to ensure effective service delivery.
Aiyedatiwa, who has been vocal about the urgency of governance, urged his appointees to hit the ground running, emphasising that Ondo State cannot afford bureaucratic delays or inefficiency.
To promote efficiency and accountability, the governor announced plans to implement a performance-measuring system that will track the achievements of each ministry. He warned that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption, indolence, and disloyalty, making it clear that only those who deliver tangible results will remain in office. “We demand excellence from all appointees because that is the reason we were elected,” Aiyedatiwa said.
Collaboration and teamwork were also key points in the governor’s address. He advised his new executive members to work closely with permanent secretaries, accounting officers, and other career professionals within their ministries to ensure seamless governance. According to him, a united and well-coordinated administration is essential for achieving sustainable development in Ondo State.
Among the key appointments were Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti as Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowumi Isaac as Commissioner for Finance. Others included Johnson Alabi, Special Adviser on Power, Dr. Seun Osamaye, Special Adviser on Women Affairs, and Comrade Bola Taiwo, Special Adviser on Union Matters.
