Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has advised the South East Development Commission (SEDC) to prioritize the development of a rail network connecting all state capitals in the region. Soludo made the call when he received the newly appointed members of SEDC, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Emeka Nworgu, at the governor’s lodge in Awka.

The governor emphasized the importance of focusing on a single, high-impact project that can transform the region’s economy. He cautioned against spreading resources too thin by attempting to tackle multiple projects simultaneously.

Soludo urged the SEDC to adopt a strategic approach to project delivery, emphasizing the need for effective planning, execution, and monitoring. He stressed that the commission should prioritize projects that can have a significant impact on the region’s development.

The governor also encouraged the SEDC to collaborate with South-East governors to achieve significant progress. He noted that a united approach would facilitate the realization of the region’s development goals.

Dr Emeka Nworgu, the CEO of SEDC, commended Soludo for his significant achievements in health, education, and infrastructure development. He pledged the commission’s commitment to establishing the South-East region as a leading investment hub.

The Managing Director of SEDC, Mr Mark Okoye, reiterated the commission’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and economic growth in the region. He expressed optimism about the potential for a fruitful partnership between the commission and the Anambra State government.

Soludo’s call for a focus on rail network development is seen as a strategic move to boost the region’s economy. The development of a rail network would facilitate the transportation of goods and people, stimulating economic growth and development.

The SEDC’s commitment to establishing the South-East region as a leading investment hub is a welcome development. The commission’s efforts to foster sustainable development and economic growth are expected to have a positive impact on the region.
