Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has advised the South East Development Commission (SEDC) to prioritize the development of a rail network connecting all state capitals in the region. Soludo made the call when he received the newly appointed members of SEDC, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Emeka Nworgu, at the governor’s lodge in Awka.
The governor emphasized the importance of focusing on a single, high-impact project that can transform the region’s economy. He cautioned against spreading resources too thin by attempting to tackle multiple projects simultaneously.
Soludo urged the SEDC to adopt a strategic approach to project delivery, emphasizing the need for effective planning, execution, and monitoring. He stressed that the commission should prioritize projects that can have a significant impact on the region’s development.
The governor also encouraged the SEDC to collaborate with South-East governors to achieve significant progress. He noted that a united approach would facilitate the realization of the region’s development goals.
