The National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the upcoming Workplace Readiness and Employability Skills Training program, titled “I am employable,” scheduled to take place from June 4 to June 7, 2024, in Abuja.
As stated by the APC National Youths Leader and Training Convener, Dayo Israel, this four-day event aims to enhance employment skills and office management abilities among young Nigerians aged 16 and above. The program is tailored to cultivate the fundamental skills sought after by employers, thereby increasing their chances of securing employment, maintaining their positions, and adapting effectively within the job market.
Israel highlighted that the initiative will provide participants with improved personal branding techniques for crafting effective resumes, essential workplace competencies, innovative problem-solving approaches, and competitive strategies for thriving in a global environment.
Israel articulated, “Under the theme ‘I am employable,’ this initiative represents a significant endeavor to bolster the economic prowess of young Nigerians, equipping them with the essential skills, knowledge, and prospects to make substantial contributions to their communities. The overarching goal is to support our nation’s economic growth and structural transformation by enhancing employability, boosting labor productivity, and curbing unemployment.”
“This transformative program is an integral component of the APC National Youth Strategic Plan 2024-2027, demonstrating my dedication to empowering and developing youths through strategic measures and collaborations. The program is specifically tailored to enhance the employability of young individuals, graduates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, and those transitioning between careers in today’s competitive employment landscape.”
“Our primary objective with this program is to bolster the economic capabilities of young Nigerians, particularly progressive youths, by endowing them with the core skills necessary to secure employment, sustain their positions, and navigate the job market effectively – essentially preparing them for the workplace.”
