The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed it will soon receive governors defecting from multiple opposition-led states nationwide.
APC defection governors are expected from Bayelsa, Rivers, Plateau, Kano, and possibly either Abia or Enugu states soon.
Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, APC National Vice Chairman (South East), made the disclosure while speaking with journalists about ongoing party realignments.
He stated confidently that APC defection governors are no longer rumors but planned political shifts scheduled within two months.
“These defections are not speculative; The APC expect official announcements from these defecting governors very soon,” Arodiogbu explained during the interview.
He dismissed the proposed opposition coalition as a publicity stunt designed to keep individual politicians relevant in the media.
“Politicians know the APC is delivering real governance results, and that’s where Nigerians are shifting their loyalty,” he added.
According to him, the APC defection governors signal a collapsing opposition front, unable to mount serious electoral challenges anymore.
When asked about Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Arodiogbu replied he could not confirm anything at the moment.
However, he acknowledged that moves had been made, and party watchers shouldn’t rule out any possibility in Osun State.
He also hinted that Governor Alex Otti of Abia and the Enugu State governor remain on the party’s radar.
“These are leaders we are watching closely, and discussions have been ongoing across political channels,” Arodiogbu added with emphasis.
If confirmed, these defections would mark a major political shift ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
The APC believes the momentum is on its side and remains confident that more opposition figures will join them shortly.
