APGA National Chairman Clash Over Party Control with Governor Soludo
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on WhatsappShare on EmailShare on Telegram

Edozie Njoku, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has firmly stated that Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State does not have the authority to control or impose his will on the party. This assertion comes at a time when the party is grappling with internal leadership conflicts.

In an interview, Njoku addressed the ongoing power struggle within APGA. He made it clear that, despite the high profile of Governor Soludo, he is not above the party’s structure and rules. Njoku emphasized that the party’s principles must be adhered to, and no individual, regardless of their position, should attempt to override them.

Njoku’s comments come in response to recent tensions between himself and Soludo. He highlighted that he has made significant efforts to engage with the governor and resolve differences through meetings. However, he stressed that adhering to party protocols and doing what is right should take precedence over personal ambitions or attempts to centralize power.

The APGA National Chairman also addressed speculations that he might be working to obstruct Soludo’s re-election campaign for 2025. Njoku refuted these claims, clarifying that he does not harbor any ill will towards the governor.

Instead, he suggested that the current disputes could potentially harm the party’s prospects in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State. Njoku reassured that his disagreements with Soludo are not personal but are rooted in differing views on party leadership and management.

“I have always prioritized the party’s welfare and principles,” Njoku explained. “The party is paramount, and any notion that I am trying to sabotage the governor’s chances is unfounded. The real issue here is ensuring that the party remains strong and united, which requires respect for its established norms and processes.”

Njoku’s stance underscores his commitment to maintaining the integrity of APGA amidst the leadership challenges. He believes that resolving these issues constructively is crucial for the party’s success in future elections. By addressing the rumors and emphasizing his respect for the party’s structure, Njoku aims to focus attention on the party’s unity and electoral strategy rather than internal conflicts.
