Arsenal reignited their Premier League title pursuit with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in a dramatic North London derby. The Gunners, recovering from back-to-back defeats in domestic cup competitions, relied on resilience and timely performances from key players, including 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Despite dominating possession early, Arsenal fell behind in the 25th minute to a Son Heung-min strike. However, they quickly turned the game around, benefiting from a Dominic Solanke own goal and a decisive winner from Leandro Trossard. While the victory was deserved, inefficiency in front of goal highlighted Arsenal’s continued need for a clinical striker.

Manager Mikel Arteta acknowledged this, saying, “We are actively looking and will try to do something in the January transfer window. Let’s see what we can get.” The Gunners face a striker crisis, with Gabriel Jesus sidelined long-term and Bukayo Saka recovering from surgery.

The standout performer was Lewis-Skelly, who impressed with his composure and maturity despite his youth. Arteta described his display as “phenomenal,” while Declan Rice praised the teenager’s confidence and ability under pressure. Lewis-Skelly’s emergence offers hope for Arsenal’s depth as the season progresses.

Arteta expressed satisfaction with his team’s response after recent setbacks, emphasizing the need to build on this momentum. “This game was crucial. The attitude was phenomenal, and now we must focus on recovery and the next challenge,” he said.
