Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emphasised the need for a new movement to correct Nigeria’s current
trajectory, warning that failure to act will result in the country’s children becoming “slaves in their fatherland”.
Atiku made this statement during a coalition meeting in Yola, which brought together members from various political
parties. Atiku stressed that Nigeria is no longer moving in the right direction and requires re-engineering to ensure
citizens enjoy the benefits of democracy.
He urged Nigerians to be vigilant and work in the country’s best interest, hinting that the new movement will be the
solution to Nigeria’s problems.
Senator Ishaku Abbo, who organised the meeting, expressed his support for Atiku, stating that any platform the
former Vice President chooses will be their party. Abbo’s statement underscores the level of trust and confidence in
Atiku’s leadership.
The meeting, attended by representatives from 21 local government areas in Adamawa State, demonstrated a strong
desire for positive change in Nigeria. Atiku commended the large turnout, seeing it as a clear indication that Nigerians
are eager for a better future.

Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, criticised President Bola Tinubu’s
administration for its handling of security and socioeconomic development. Adebayo described the regime as a
failure and a disappointment to Nigerians.
Adebayo lamented the country’s crises, including poverty, insecurity, underdevelopment, and unemployment. He
accused the administration of prioritising personal interests over the welfare of the people.
The former presidential candidate emphasised the need for seriousness in addressing Nigeria’s challenges, stressing
that serving the people should be the primary focus. He believes that the true position of relevance in Nigeria is that of a citizen.
