Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced the appointment of Alhaji Aminu Hammayo as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The announcement, made through a statement by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, follows the resignation of the former SSG, Mr. Ibrahim Kashim, on December 13, 2024.
Hammayo, a seasoned public servant and administrator, has previously held several key roles in the state. Notably, he once served as SSG and, until his recent appointment, was the Commissioner for Budget and Multilateral Coordination. His extensive experience and dedication to public service are expected to bolster the administration’s effectiveness.
In addition to the SSG appointment, Governor Mohammed also named Alhaji Hashimu Kumbala as his Principal Private Secretary. A retired permanent secretary, Kumbala has a strong administrative background and was the Special Adviser on General Services before this new role. His appointment emphasizes the governor’s commitment to ensuring efficient communication and coordination within the government.
According to Gidado, these appointments align with the governor’s vision for a more inclusive and progressive administration. The new appointees are expected to contribute significantly to achieving the administration’s goals of effective governance and sustainable development in Bauchi State.
