The traditional rulers in Otukpo, Benue State, have commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for his efforts in restoring
water supply to the ancient town and its environs.
The mayor of Otukpo, Chief Aloga Ogbogo, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Och’Idoma, John Elaigwu, and other
monarchs in Idoma land.
The governor’s decisive steps in rehabilitating the Otobi/Otukpo and Katsina-Ala Water Works have been praised by
the community. The state government’s approval of the outstanding contract sum to the Chinese company that
constructed the water works was also appreciated.
The mayor urged residents to safeguard all water installations to prevent vandalism or disruptions to the water
supply. He also called on the Ministry for Water Resources to ensure the rehabilitation is executed according to specifications.
