Nigerians continued to feel the effects of the recent fuel price hike on Friday. In some states, the price of PMS, also known as petrol, rose to as much as N1,300 and N1,400.
Investigations by Journalists revealed that some petrol stations in Rivers, Kebbi, Ekiti, and other states are now selling fuel at N1,300 and N1,400 per litre respectively.
In Abuja, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) sold the product for N897 per litre on Friday. However, within the metropolis, independent traders were selling PMS for N918 and N930 per litre respectively. In the outskirts of the city centre, a litre was being sold for N1,000.
In Ekiti, a litre of petrol costs 856 naira at NNPCL bulk filling stations and 935, 950, 990, 1,080, 1,150, and 1,350 naira at independent filling stations.
In Abia State, a litre of petrol costs 880 naira at NNPCL and 1,100 to 1,200 naira at independent filling stations.
In Anambra, a litre of petrol costs 980 naira at NNPCL and ranges from N1,000 to N1,200
at other filling stations.
In Benue, it costs N885 per litre at NNPCL and N1,000-N1,150 at other filling stations, while the price in the black market is between N1200 and N1,400.
In Oyo State, it is sold at NNPCL for N865 and Total Energy for N890 while others sell from N900- N1,200.
In Katsina, NNPCL sells it for 855 naira while independent dealers sell it for 1,100 to 1,200 naira. In Akwa Ibom, NNPCL sells it for 950 naira while others sell it for 1,100 naira. In Imo, NNPCL sells it for 887 naira while others sell it for 1,100 naira.
In Kebbi, NNPCL sells it for 897 naira while others sell for 1,200 and 1,300 naira.
In Kogi State, petrol sells from N950, N985- N1,230.
In Kano, NNPCL sells it for 905 naira while independent dealers sell it for 950- 1,150 naira. In the black market, the price is between N1,200 and N1,300.
In Rivers State, private filling stations in Port Harcourt Township sell petrol for N1,390 – N1,460.
In Ogun State, petrol costs N880 at NNPCL, in Ebonyi it is N980 at NNPC, other filling stations sell N1,100, and in Edo state, NNPCL sells N980 and others sell N1,100 to N1,250.
In Ondo, it is N1,050, while in Kwara, it is N870 to N890 at NNPCL. Other independent traders sell it for N999, to N1,200. In Niger, it is N890 at NNPCL and N950 to N1,200 at other petrol stations.
Also, in Delta state, petrol is N885 at NNPCL and N950 to N1,250 elsewhere.
In Osun State, it is N896 at NNPCL and N950 to N1,200 in other stations.
In Zamfara petrol is N1,000, in Nasarawa it is N1,050, in Sokoto it is N980 to N1,200, in Enugu it is N885 at NNPCL, and N980 to N1,200 elsewhere, in Kaduna it is N904 at NNPCL and N1,200 in other petrol stations.
