The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced plans to launch the national campaign council for the forthcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States. This momentous occasion is set to occur on Thursday, June 27, 2024. It is worth noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already fixed the dates for the Edo state governorship election on September 21 and the Ondo State election on November 16, 2024.
In a press statement released by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP made a formal declaration stating, “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our esteemed party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has authorized the establishment of the Edo and Ondo State Governorship Election National Campaign Councils. This resolution underscores the party’s steadfast commitment to achieving victory in the upcoming elections.”

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to be held at the party’s national secretariat, where all leaders, key stakeholders, and members of the Edo and Ondo State Governorship Election National Campaign Councils are expected to attend and comply with the directives provided. This event represents a pivotal moment in the party’s campaign strategy as they prepare for the critical governorship elections in the two states.

The council will be responsible for formulating comprehensive campaign strategies, mobilizing grassroots support, and ensuring effective communication with the electorate.
Additionally, the National Publicity Secretary stressed the significance of unity and collaboration within the council to optimize the party’s chances of success in the elections.

The PDP remains positive about its prospects in both Edo and Ondo States and is dedicated to conducting issue-based campaigns centered on delivering good governance and development to the people.
As the countdown to the elections commences, the party has confidence in the capabilities of the newly established campaign councils and anticipates a successful electoral process in both states.
The campaign councils will exert great effort to engage with voters and convey the party’s vision persuasively.
Efforts in mobilizing grassroots support will be a primary focus to ensure widespread backing for the PDP candidates.

Transparent communication channels will be established to keep the electorate well-informed and engaged throughout the campaign period.
The council members will collaborate closely to address any challenges and adjust strategies based on feedback from the field.
The PDP’s dedication to good governance and development will take precedence in its campaign message to resonate with voters.
With a united front and a clear agenda, the party aims to secure victory in the forthcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States.
