Joseph Adelaja, the Comptroller of the Oyo/Osun Customs Area Command, reiterated the critical role of collaboration in curbing smuggling activities at border stations. Speaking at a courtesy visit by the Nigeria Customs Liaison Office delegation from Cotonou, Benin Republic, Adelaja stressed that intelligence sharing and inter-agency synergy are essential to enforcing effective border security measures.
The visit, led by Chief Superintendent O.M. Olanrewaju, was warmly received at the operational headquarters in Ibadan. Adelaja highlighted that the cooperation with the Liaison Office aligns with the broader policy thrust of Comptroller-General B.A. Adeniyi, which prioritizes consolidation, innovation, and a unified approach to tackling smuggling and related crimes.
In his address, Adelaja commended the Nigeria Customs Liaison Office for its efforts to strengthen cross-border relations.
