…..Says Citizens Will Have Doorposts Access to Cheaper Fuel
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has strongly backed Dangote’s plan to ensure cheaper fuel access.
IPMAN said Dangote’s free nationwide delivery strategy is a major step toward sustainable and cheaper fuel access.
Speaking on national television, IPMAN’s Publicity Secretary, Chinedu Ukadike, commended Dangote for addressing distribution challenges directly.
According to Ukadike, Dangote’s statement reflects long-term planning to fix major gaps in Nigeria’s fuel supply logistics network.
He said independent marketers are relieved because the move eases the financial pressure they face transporting fuel inland.
“For years, Nigeria’s fuel pipelines have remained idle, leaving marketers to struggle with expensive haulage from coastal depots,” he explained.
He noted that independent marketers currently bear the full brunt of transporting fuel from tank farms to inland locations.
However, with Dangote’s acquisition of 4,000 CNG-powered trucks, that burden will be significantly reduced moving forward.
The trucks, set for rollout in August, will distribute fuel nationwide directly from Dangote’s refinery without middlemen.
Ukadike said the initiative will allow citizens to enjoy easier and cheaper fuel access at their doorstep every day.
While some groups raised concerns about market disruption, IPMAN believes competition will ultimately benefit Nigerian consumers.
Depot operators fear losing direct deals, but IPMAN insists Dangote has every right to streamline his supply methods.
Dangote’s refinery announced free fuel delivery to marketers, major dealers, and institutional buyers nationwide on Sunday.
IPMAN sees this as a game-changing effort to lower distribution costs and improve fuel availability across Nigeria’s remote regions.
The association welcomed Dangote’s bold step and called on other stakeholders to focus on solving national energy challenges.
With Dangote’s leadership, IPMAN believes Nigerians will soon enjoy reliable and cheaper fuel access like never before.
