Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to provide compensation to the families of the 16 hunters allegedly murdered by a vigilante group at Uromi.
The governor made this promise during a condolence visit to the families of the victims in Kano State. Okpebholo, who was accompanied by his Kano State counterpart, Abba Yusuf, commended the people of Kano State for remaining calm despite the incident.
He also praised the northern region for not taking the law into their own hands. The governor assured the families of the victims that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
He prayed for the souls of the deceased, asking Almighty God to forgive them and reward them with paradise. Yusuf, in his remarks, prayed for the souls of the victims and pledged to work closely with Okpebholo to ensure that justice prevails.

He also promised that compensation would be provided to the affected families. Okpebholo disclosed that 14 suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings. He assured that the case would be pursued to its logical conclusion.
