Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has pledged to ensure the triumph of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the upcoming September 21 governorship election.
Oshiomhole expressed his willingness to assume the role of a custodian to secure victory for the APC in the governorship election.
His remarks were made during the inauguration of the party’s Campaign Council for the election held over the weekend.
The former governor encouraged residents affected by flooding, whose children lack adequate seating in schools, to participate in ensuring the victory of the APC in the governorship election.
Oshiomhole stated, “If it necessitates my undertaking the role of a custodian, I am prepared to guide Senator Monday Okpebholo into the position of governor.
“Each member and supporter of the APC is an integral part of our campaign for authentic change under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo.
“Designations hold no significance, every member is an advocate, and every member of our party must diligently strive to secure victory in their respective units, wards, local government, and state.”
Furthermore, the Director General of the APC Campaign Council, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, called upon disgruntled members to come together and collaborate for the success of the party.
He urged dissatisfied members to downplay the importance of financial contributions.
On September 21, the people of Edo State will come out and cast their votes for the next governor of the state.
While the APC has Senator Monday Okpebholo as its candidate, the PDP has Asue Ighodalo, and Olumide Akpata is the candidate of the Labour Party.
