In the 2025 national budget presented by President Bola Tinubu, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) have been allocated a combined total of N2 billion for fueling their operational vehicles. This expenditure is part of the N47.90 trillion budget that focuses on national security and economic recovery.
The budget reveals that the EFCC has earmarked N808.7 million specifically for fueling its fleet of vehicles, in addition to N462 million for refreshments and meals throughout the year. These allocations are part of the broader N4.91 trillion dedicated to defense and security, signaling the government’s continued emphasis on securing the nation and strengthening security agencies.
On the other hand, the DSS has set aside a significant N1.37 billion for vehicle fueling, alongside a budget of N1.4 million for purchasing tactical counter-terrorism equipment. These allocations also include N1.4 billion for arms and ammunition procurement and N1.1 billion for advanced cybersecurity tools, underlining the security agency’s focus on upgrading its resources to combat modern threats.
Furthermore, the DSS, as part of the National Security Adviser’s office, is benefiting from a substantial portion of the N960 billion allocated in the 2025 budget for the maintenance of defense aircraft and procurement of security equipment across various sectors, further demonstrating the government’s priority on national security.
