The Ekiti State House of Assembly has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, dismissing recent rumors of external attempts to destabilize the House leadership.
During the plenary session, the Majority Leader, Tolulope Ige, described the insinuations of external influence as baseless, affirming that the Assembly remains united, transparent, and focused on delivering its mandate. A motion for the vote of confidence was subsequently moved and received unanimous support from all lawmakers, marked by a standing ovation.
Reacting to the show of solidarity, Speaker Aribasoye expressed gratitude, likening the vote to a renewal of the trust and social contract established with his colleagues upon his election on June 6, 2023. He praised the Seventh Assembly’s unity and their collective drive for legislative excellence.
Aribasoye also commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his unwavering respect for the legislature and consistent support of its leadership, which has further strengthened governance in the state.
