FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has admonished Nigerians to continually pray for President Bola Tinubu, saying that despite the current bend, the President means well for the country and the people.
The Minister stated this on Friday at the flag-off of the construction of the six-lane Arterial Road N5, also known as Obafemi Awolowo Way, in Life Camp, Abuja.
According to Wike, the new road will create jobs, stabilize food prices, and uplift the local economy
Wike said, “So I want all of you in prayer to continue to pray for Mr President so that at the end of the day, the lost hope of our people will be gotten back, That is why he said the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda.’
He said President Tinubu’s government intends to bring back lost hope. “I am sure people who are living here never believed that this road can be done again. The president said, ‘No, there is nothing that cannot be done. he added.
The minister pointed out that President Tinubu’s approvals were the reason behind all of the ongoing projects in the nation’s capital.
In order for the current government to fulfil its campaign pledges, he further urged all Nigerians to keep supporting it.
“We thank God that Mr. President, in his infinite wisdom to make sure that work continues in the FCT, gave us a latitude by increasing our threshold.
“Today you see that contracts for schools are going on; contracts for building more police stations to save our people are going on. It is because of the approval given to us by Mr. President,” he stated.
He urged the contractor, Julius Berger Nigeria, to aim for completion in 14 months rather than the initial 18-month timeline, promising additional contracts if they are successful.
The Arterial Road N5 project is part of a broader effort to enhance the FCT’s infrastructure, positioning Abuja as a more accessible and economically vibrant city.
