Shamsiyya Ahadu, 25, a suspected logistics provider for terrorist activities in Zamfara State, has been taken into custody by troops from the one brigade of Operation Fansan Yanma.
On Saturday, December 28, the suspect was taken into custody when operatives learnt of her whereabouts.
She was in the Shinkafi LGA with her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini, at a checkpoint on the road from Kware to Badarawa, where the suspect was apprehended.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, revealed this in a statement on Saturday.
He said the suspect “was found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and 6 magazines meant to be delivered to terrorist kingpin Bello Turji’s camp.
“The arrest followed an intelligence report regarding the movement of the terrorists logistics along the road from Kware to Badarawa in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State,” the statement read.
“In response to the development, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma promptly established a roadblock leading to the apprehension of the suspects. Both suspects are currently undergoing investigation by appropriate authorities.”
According to Abdullahi, the military is still committed to dismantling all terrorist organizations and stopping the unlawful flow of weapons and ammunition within its operational area.
Additionally, he urged the public to continue supplying reliable information that could result in the capture of wanted terrorists and those who assist them.
He said, “The theatre would also like to express its gratitude to the people of the Zone for their consistent local support in fulfilling the mandate of Operation Fansan Yamma.”
