In a statement on her official X.com account, @BarrUjuKennedy, Ohanenye expressed her commitment to Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” and urged Nigerians to remain optimistic about the nation’s future. She described the current political climate as a “highly spiritual movement” that no force could stop and pledged to fight “alongside [Tinubu] to the last.”
Ohanenye encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and assured them that a better Nigeria is within reach. She wrote, “This is a test of time… President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is destined to fix Nigeria, and I, Barr Uju Kennedy, will fight alongside him to the last.” Her message resonated with many, as she reiterated her belief that Tinubu’s leadership would pave the way for the country’s resurgence.
Her statement follows her October 24 letter of appreciation to the President, in which she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve Nigeria and affirmed her ongoing dedication to the nation’s development. Ohanenye, along with four other ministers, was dismissed in a cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday. The restructuring also saw ten ministers reassigned, seven new ministerial nominees proposed for Senate confirmation, and new appointments for roles like the Chair of the National Sports Commission and Special Adviser on Public Communication.
The shake-up brought fresh faces into key portfolios, including Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment. The reassignments signal Tinubu’s commitment to refining his team and aligning it more closely with his administration’s goals, following the “Renewed Hope Agenda” principles.
Reflecting on her tenure, Ohanenye expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu, describing her service as both an honour and a privilege. She stated, “It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute to the development of our nation.”
