Fredfish Urges PDP to End Wike’s Tyrannical Behavior After Recent Criticism
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on WhatsappShare on EmailShare on Telegram

Tom Fredfish, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, has launched a strong critique of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike following Wike’s recent comments. Fredfish’s criticism comes in response to statements Wike made during the PDP state congress held last weekend in Rivers State.

Fredfish labeled Wike’s remarks as “vexatious,” indicating that they were both inflammatory and troubling. He expressed concern that Wike’s behavior could severely harm the PDP and urged the party to take decisive action against him. According to Fredfish, the party must address Wike’s disruptive influence or consider expelling him to prevent further damage.

In an exclusive interview with Journalists, Fredfish called upon President Bola Tinubu, whose administration includes Wike as a minister, to intervene. Fredfish criticized Wike for allegedly inciting violence and making threats against governors who support Siminalayi Fubara, another prominent PDP figure. He argued that Wike’s actions are a threat not only to the stability of Rivers State but also to the broader PDP.

Fredfish described Wike as a “loose cannon” and stressed that the PDP needs to rein him in. He lamented that Wike, who worked against the PDP’s success in the 2023 general elections, is now making grandiose threats that he is unlikely to back up. Fredfish suggested that Wike’s influence has diminished significantly, questioning his ability to impact state politics or challenge the authority of other governors.

Fredfish specifically addressed Wike’s claims about his power over Akwa Ibom State, suggesting that Wike lacks the authority to challenge Governor Umo Eno. He criticized Wike for his arrogance and accused him of acting as if the PDP were his personal domain. Fredfish urged the PDP to unite and confront Wike’s behavior, emphasizing that the party should not tolerate such actions.

Moreover, Fredfish emphasized that Wike has committed numerous offenses against the PDP and should be expelled from the party. He also reiterated his call for President Tinubu to take action against Wike, arguing that his recent speeches are unbecoming of a federal minister and pose a threat to both the administration’s stability and national civility.

Fredfish concluded by expressing doubts about Wike’s ability to follow through on his threats. He characterized Wike as inconsistent and unreliable, suggesting that PDP governors are aware of his limitations and will address his behavior at an appropriate time. According to Fredfish, Wike’s credibility has been significantly undermined, making his threats less credible.

The controversy began after PDP Governors Forum Chairman Bala Mohammed, along with other governors, expressed support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Wike responded by threatening to create problems in the states of those supporting Fubara, indicating that he would retaliate against any challenges to his authority.
