The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, outlined plans to improve service delivery and road safety in Nigeria throughout 2025. He commended the FRSC staff for their efforts in making the nation’s roads safer and emphasised that the agency would build on the successes of 2024 to enhance both personnel welfare and training. Mohammed also stressed that road traffic crashes are preventable and called for a collaborative effort among all stakeholders to address the issue more effectively.
The Corps Marshal addressed challenges such as rising fatalities, traffic violations, and violence against FRSC personnel, pledging that such behaviour would not be tolerated in the new year. He also highlighted the FRSC’s efforts to increase public awareness through town hall meetings and empower passengers to report unsafe driving practices.
Mohammed thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support, which has helped the FRSC achieve its goals, and called for continued collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure road safety remains a shared responsibility. He closed by wishing all Nigerians safer and more prosperous motoring experiences in 2025.
