Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State emphasized that governing the state while kneeling would be disastrous.
Governor Fubara spoke passionately during a solidarity visit at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, addressing a range of issues including the recent declaration of legislative seats vacant on December 13, 2023, which he insisted would remain unoccupied. He outlined plans for the forthcoming 2025 budget, highlighting priorities such as education, healthcare, and agriculture. In his remarks, Governor Fubara underscored his administration’s commitment to enhancing public services and advancing development initiatives. He emphasized, “Our focus in the 2025 budget will be on strengthening education, improving healthcare facilities, and boosting agricultural productivity.”
Furthermore, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transparency and effective governance. He stated firmly, “We will continue to uphold integrity and stand firm on principles of justice and fairness.”
During the visit, the governor also acknowledged the support of various stakeholders, including the leadership structure, opinion leaders, women, and youth from Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas.
He expressed gratitude for their solidarity and assured them of his administration’s inclusive approach to governance. Additionally, Governor Fubara addressed ongoing challenges such as security issues related to herders’ attacks and illegal dredging activities.
