The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style, hailing it as an embodiment of “politics without acrimony.” Ganduje is optimistic that this approach will promote national cohesion and be advantageous to all Nigerians.
Ganduje conveyed these sentiments on Monday in Kaduna during the inaugural stakeholders meeting of the North West zone of the ruling party. He implored politicians to eschew the “Pull Him Down Syndrome,” stressing that politics demands adept negotiation skills where the most meritorious ideas prevail.
“This marks the premiere occasion where a true democrat and politician has ascended to the helm of our country as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore, we are duty-bound not to falter,” Ganduje asserted.
He lauded President Tinubu’s strategy of appointing members from opposition parties to pivotal ministries and positions, citing it as a prime illustration of “politics without animosity.”
“Politics hinges on superior negotiating prowess, not underhanded tactics; those who have resorted to such methods in the past have only themselves to blame, “Ganduje articulated. “The strategy of nurturing men and women is what ultimately propelled Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the Presidency and that is a principle we all should adopt. By supporting one another, rallying behind the President, fortifying our party, and elevating our geopolitical zone to unparalleled economic and political heights, we will collectively reap the rewards of our labor.”
Ganduje further underscored President Tinubu’s dedication to revitalizing Nigeria and ensuring its inclusivity for all citizens. He urged party stakeholders to embark on extensive public awareness campaigns regarding the administration’s endeavors.
“Success in all our undertakings hinges on peace and unity,” Ganduje emphasized. “No seeds of progress can flourish amidst turmoil. We need to operate cohesively. Through collective effort, we will be able to attract the cream of the crop to our region, that being the North West zone. A fractured house cannot withstand the trials of time.”
He also touched upon the issue of insecurity in the zone and the nation at large, advocating for unified action to safeguard lives and property.
“The widespread insecurity plaguing certain areas of the country, including our own geopolitical zone, must come to an end,” Ganduje declared. “It is imperative that we join forces to ensure the safety and protection of our populace. This stands as the paramount objective of any governing body.”
Ganduje put forth a proposal involving the establishment of a Forest Rapid Respond Squad stationed within forests, furnished with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure. This endeavor aims to regain authority over forests and combat banditry, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
“We must fortify our forests,” Ganduje concluded. “We must train and equip a Forest Rapid Respond Squad that is stationed within the forests, complete with their accommodations and necessary infrastructure. By providing them with training, resources, and technological advancements in our forests, we can assume full control. Successful implementation of this strategy will ultimately lead to the resolution of issues related to banditry, kidnapping, and armed robbery.”
