Following the drama of the declaration of a state of emergency in the River state and the subsequent suspension of Fubara from office of the governor alongside the legislative arm of government, Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has made his first public appearance.
Governor Fubara was removed from office on Tuesday after President Bola Tinubu appointed Ibok-Ete Ibas as the
Sole Administrator.
On Sunday, the governor was spotted making his way to the Salvation Ministries headquarters in GRA, Port Harcourt, for worship.
Fubara’s visit follows President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers on Tuesday, which was
based on growing security and political tensions. Fubara, his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and every member of the Rivers
State House of Assembly were suspended as a result of the announcement.
In their place, the President appointed Ibok-Ete Ibas as the Sole Administrator to oversee the state’s affairs for an
initial period of six months.

The newly appointed Sole Administrator has not spent any time in taking office, despite the fact that the decision has
generated conflicting responses from civil society organisations, legal professionals, and political stakeholders.
He has taken a number of calculated actions since assuming power, such as calling emergency security meetings
with law enforcement, traditional leaders, and local government administration heads. During these meetings, he
verified the release of the withheld allocation and directed that the payment of local government employees be
processed right away.
He has also gone on an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction of the State House of Assembly Complex, promising
to ensure its timely completion to ensure stability in governance.
Governor Fubara attended the service with his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.
