Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has proclaimed that his administration will establish a superior standard of leadership, aiming to elevate the quality of life and socio-economic status of the people of Rivers.
The governor highlighted the persistent attempts by detractors to derail his administration from its objectives through unnecessary conflicts, stressing that engaging in such battles would be futile. Governor Fubara maintained that his focus would be on providing effective governance, implementing policies that prioritize the needs of the people, executing impactful and sustainable projects, and ensuring the consistent delivery of democratic benefits to the populace. He made this statement at Ogbogoro Town during the official commencement of the Okania-Ogbogoro Road project in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Friday.
Governor Fubara expressed, “I have a single request: that you continue to conduct yourselves peacefully despite the challenges we face. They seek to lead us astray, to disrupt our progress.
“If we engage in conflict with them, we will be expending our energy needlessly. Therefore, our focus should be on fulfilling the promises we made to our people. Our approach will be to establish a benchmark that surpasses theirs so that when they observe our work, they will acknowledge our dedication to the people. Everyone will witness that our efforts are genuinely for the benefit of the people, and they will recognize that ‘they are truly serving the people.’ That will be our leadership style.”Governor Fubara affirmed that the Okania-Ogbogoro Road project will not merely remain at the flag-off stage but will be finalized and inaugurated within the next five months.
He stressed the importance of the communities and their leaders providing unwavering support to the contractor, without any attempts to sabotage, in order to ensure the timely completion of the project.
He added, “Ultimately, the project is for your benefit. It is a project that will create a better and more favorable environment for you and your children.”
