Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has called on Nigerian youths to engage in politics to take control of their future and make meaningful changes in society.
Otti made this statement during a church service at The Transforming Church (TTC) in Abuja on Sunday, urging young people not to shy away from the political arena.
The governor emphasised that leadership shapes the direction of a society, stating, “If you leave politics to politicians, they will make decisions for you.” He encouraged youths to get involved in politics, as it is where important decisions about their future are made. Quoting from Psalms 62:11, he reminded the congregation that power belongs to God and urged youths to use political power to create positive changes in their communities.
Otti, who left his career in banking in 2014 to join politics, shared that his decision was driven by a desire to make a difference. As the governor of Abia State, he noted that holding political office allows him to impact the lives of the entire state population with a single action. He also advised Christians to combine prayer with hard work to achieve their goals.
During the service, the lead pastor of The Transforming Church, Sam Oye, encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue pursuing their dreams. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for visiting the church and reaffirmed the church’s commitment to praying for leaders in positions of power.
