The National Working Committee (NWC), of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the party’s governors held a closed-door meeting in Abuja, on Wednesday.
This comes amid rising political consultations within the ruling party ahead of its national convention slated for March.
Recall that last year, the party released a detailed timetable of activities for its 2026 nationwide ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, which will culminate in the party’s national convention.
The APC governors, led by their Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, alongside members of the NWC, led by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, met at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
Those who attended the meeting include Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang; Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani; Kebbi State Governor Mohammed Idris; Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru; and Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu.
Others were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo; Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia; Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas; Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno; and Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, among others.
