In celebration of President Bola Tinubu’s 73rd birthday, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, have praised his leadership, highlighting his significant contributions to Nigeria’s progress.
The President, born on March 29, 1952, was lauded for his courage in implementing tough yet necessary reforms, particularly his bold decision to remove the fuel subsidy. Speaker Abbas described President Tinubu as one of the most experienced politicians in the country, having excelled at various levels of government, including the executive and legislative arms.
In his congratulatory message, Abbas emphasized that Nigeria is fortunate to have a patriot and democrat like Tinubu steering the ship of the nation at such a pivotal time in the country’s history. He commended the president for taking crucial actions, such as the fuel subsidy removal and other economic reforms, which are already beginning to yield positive results for Nigeria.
Abbas further acknowledged the president’s efforts in introducing significant programs like the Student Loan Scheme, consumer credit schemes, and local government autonomy. He also praised Tinubu’s strategies to stabilize the Nigerian economy, which include fixing the Port Harcourt Refinery and the crude-for-naira deal. These initiatives, he noted, are laying the foundation for long-term growth and prosperity.

Kalu praised Tinubu’s decision to remove the subsidy, which he believes will ultimately help the country regain economic stability.
Additionally, Kalu highlighted the creation of regional development commissions, which aim to address infrastructure needs in Nigeria’s various geopolitical zones. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, also paid tribute to President Tinubu, describing him as the “Aare Ona Kankafo” of political and democratic struggles. His 73rd birthday celebrations marked not just a personal milestone but also a moment for Nigerians to reflect on the transformative changes he is leading in the country.
