General Overseer of the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly, Bishop David Abioye, has criticised Nigerian leaders for denying the alleged Christian genocide in the country.
There has been a serious debate regarding the claim of Christian massacre across Nigeria, especially in the Northern region.
Some lawmakers and religious freedom fighters in the United States have alleged that over 30 Christians are killed every day in Nigeria.
Calling for Nigeria to be designated as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC), the lawmakers alleged that several churches in Nigeria have been destroyed by Islamic extremists.
But the Federal Government has since dismissed the claims, saying that the security crisis in Nigeria does not target a particular religion.
Addressing the matter while speaking to the congregation during a sermon, Abioye claimed people are “being buried in hundreds.”
According to him, Nigerian leaders are denying the claim for their “personal interests.”
“Information with facts can’t be thwarted. You see people being buried in hundreds and you said there is no genocide? What a wicked set of people!
“I agree that there are other people killed in other places for other reasons, but Christian genocide is very clear and gradually, it is eating down to the South.
“Southwest and Southeast, and many so-called leaders, for their personal interests, are claiming that it is not true,” he said.
