Kogi Central Senatorial District Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has stated that she will shortly provide proof of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
She added that, despite the fact that it came late, INEC’s decision to deny a recall petition was a positive step.
According to the female lawmaker, while appearing on a TV programme on Thursday, she mentioned that at the right time and in the right space, she will present the evidence that she has.
“I’m a lawyer. I’m a senator,, and I understand how Nigeria works. For me, the most important thing is this recall process has been stalled.
“I give kudos and credit to INEC even though I believe they should have thrown it away from the get-go,” she said.

Natasha, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), contended that because the majority of the homes in her constituency were unlabelled, the majority of the addresses listed in the petition for her recall were fraudulent.
She went on to say, “I bet you that if they had gone into the verification stage, they would have struggled to even have 500 people come out to attest to signing that, even though INEC did count 208,000 signatures.”
On Monday, March 24, 2025, a group of Kogi Central residents purportedly petitioned INEC for Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recall under the leadership of Charity Omole, one of Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo’s aides.
INEC declared in a long-awaited statement on Thursday that the recall petition for the lawmaker did not satisfy Section 69(a) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) Constitution.
“Therefore, no further action shall be taken regarding the Senator’s recall,” the IEC stated.
The female federal legislator and Senate President Godswill Akpabio were at odds over seat arrangements. Akpabio was charged by the lawmaker with sexual harassment and official misconduct. As a result of her misbehaviour, the Senate suspended her for six months.
