On Thursday, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Bank of Industry (BOI) to establish a presence in the state. This statement was made by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguike Nwachukwu, during a visit by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of BOI, Dr. Olasupo Olusi, to the governor in Owerri.
Governor Uzodimma explained that the partnership with BOI aimed to assist manufacturers struggling with high production costs. The governor welcomed BOI’s interest in partnering with the Imo State government to enhance the economic well-being of its citizens.
During the visit to the Governor in Owerri, Dr. Olusi and his team pledged their commitment to supporting the state’s economy and job creation efforts. Governor Uzodimma acknowledged BOI’s role in revitalizing the national economy and tackling unemployment, expressing his willingness to collaborate with the Bank.
The Governor praised BOI’s policies for stimulating the economy, creating jobs, and reducing the cost of goods. He urged BOI to ensure Imo State benefits from their contributions to the national economy. Governor Uzodimma emphasized the importance of partnership with BOI in addressing unemployment and reducing criminal activities in the country.
He highlighted the need for programs that lower production costs and provide incentives for accessing funds. Governor Uzodimma assured the Bank of his government’s support for private sector businesses through guarantees and funding assistance.
