In a move to expand its operations in Nigeria, inDrive, a globally recognized platform for mobility and urban services, has been granted a license to operate public transport services in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The Transportation Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration issued the license to the ride-hailing company, signed by Barrister Chinedu Enechi, the Secretary of Transportation in FCT, following the completion of the licensing procedures in Abuja.

This approval allows the mobility company to offer on-demand transport and logistic services through mobile applications in FCT, aligning with the city’s initiative to register all commercial drivers and vehicles to address the increasing security concerns in Abuja.
Timothy Oladimeji, Senior Business Development Representative at inDrive Nigeria, expressed excitement about the license, emphasizing its positive impact on Abuja residents who have shown a growing interest in the ride-hailing service.

He highlighted that this milestone underscores the company’s dedication to community empowerment by providing fair, transparent urban mobility and delivery solutions across Nigeria, particularly in Abuja.
The company is focused on revolutionizing traditional ride-hailing services with a people-first approach, positioning itself as a leader in the industry with unique peer-to-peer pricing and a user-friendly interface that enhances the experience for both passengers and drivers.
inDrive stands out as one of the most popular mobility apps globally, having been downloaded over 175 million times, and is being recognized as the second most downloaded mobility app worldwide. Its presence extends to more than 16 cities in Nigeria, including Lagos, Port Harcourt, Jos, Enugu, and Owerri.

With the newly obtained license in Abuja, inDrive aims to provide diverse mobility options for passengers while contributing to the socioeconomic development of the nation’s capital through an accessible and interconnected urban transportation system.
Headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA, inDrive is a global platform offering a variety of urban services, such as intercity transportation, freight delivery, task assistance, courier services, and employment search, in addition to ride-hailing.
