INEC Receives 110 Applications from Associations Seeking Registration as Political Parties Ahead of 2027 Elections(see list)

The Independent National Electoral Commission has confirmed receiving 110 applications for INEC political parties registration as of June 23, 2025.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this during a meeting with stakeholders at the commission’s Abuja headquarters on Wednesday.


He said the commission is currently reviewing each application according to legal procedures, regulations, and established administrative guidelines.
“All applications received have been acknowledged, except for six submitted recently, which will be acknowledged later this week,” he said.
Yakubu added that the list of associations includes proposed names, acronyms, contact addresses, and names of interim officers submitted.
