Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commissioned 12 newly constructed roads within Kaduna metropolis, marking a significant milestone in the state’s infrastructure development efforts. The projects, launched in February 2024, were completed and inaugurated on Christmas Eve. Speaking during the ceremony, the governor emphasized the transformative impact of the roads on connectivity, security, and commerce across the state.
“These roads are not just for transportation; they are lifelines for economic growth, linking residents, businesses, and farmers to critical resources such as markets, schools, and healthcare facilities,” Sani remarked. He highlighted how the improved infrastructure would reduce travel time, foster trade, and enhance social interaction among residents.
The newly completed roads include major routes such as Garba Ja Abdulkadir Road, Yakubu Gowon Residential Layout roads, Stadium Roundabout to Command Junction road, and others. The governor described the projects as a reflection of the community’s collective aspirations and urged residents to ensure proper maintenance to maximize their benefits.
Looking ahead, Gov. Sani revealed plans to commission 12 additional roads by mid-2025, including the 5.525km Airport Road to Tudun Biri project. He also disclosed that his administration is working on 70 roads spanning 770 kilometers across Kaduna’s three senatorial districts, with several projects nearing completion.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development as a cornerstone for economic progress and improved living standards. “These projects symbolize our dedication to driving growth, fostering development, and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens of Kaduna State,” he concluded.
