Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has ordered recently reassigned commissioners to complete the handover of their responsibilities by Tuesday, December 17, 2024. This directive aims to ensure a seamless transition before the new cabinet structure takes full effect during the state’s next council meeting on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The governor’s spokesperson, Malam Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, confirmed this in a press statement on Sunday. It stated, “All commissioners affected by the changes are directed to hand over their responsibilities between Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th December 2024.”
Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of adhering to the handover deadline to prevent disruptions to government operations and maintain efficiency in public service delivery. He urged all members of the executive council to renew their dedication and embrace teamwork in fulfilling the administration’s promises to Kano residents.
The cabinet reshuffle aligns with the governor’s strategy to enhance governance in the state. This move follows recent structural changes, including scrapping the Office of Chief of Staff, dismissing the Secretary to the State Government, and relieving five commissioners of their duties.
In addressing the executive council, Yusuf stated, “The spirit of teamwork, dedication, and commitment remains crucial for achieving our collective goal of serving the good people of Kano.”
