The Kano State Police Command has a new leader at the helm: CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori. This appointment was
approved by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, and it’s a strategic move to enhance security
and effective policing in the state.
CP Bakori is no stranger to the police force, with over 28 years of experience under his belt. He’s served in various
capacities, including as a Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police and Commissioner of Police in the
Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
The new Commissioner of Police holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, as
well as Master’s degrees in Peace, Conflict, and Strategic Studies, and Public Administration from Kaduna State
University and the University of Abuja, respectively.
CP Bakori’s extensive experience in operations, intelligence, and security management makes him well-suited to lead
the Kano State Command. He’s expected to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor, strengthen
community policing initiatives, and foster collaboration with relevant stakeholders to enhance public trust and security.

As he assumes duty, CP Bakori has pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all residents in
Kano State. He’s called on the public to cooperate with the police and provide useful information to aid in the fight against crime.
The Kano State Police Command is urging the public to extend maximum support and cooperation to CP Bakori in his
quest to make Kano a safer and more secure state.
CP Bakori’s appointment is a significant development in the efforts to enhance security in Kano State. His experience
and expertise will undoubtedly be valuable assets in the fight against crime and the maintenance of law and order.
The Police Service Commission has also elevated 66 senior officers, a move that’s expected to boost morale and efficiency within the police force.
