The new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Katsina, CC Aliyu Maaji, has taken a firm stance against corruption within the organization, specifically warning members of staff not to extort money from motorists.

This warning came during his first official address after assuming office on Tuesday, where he outlined his vision for the Katsina sector and emphasized the importance of integrity in law enforcement.

Maaji made it clear that bribery and any form of corruption would not be tolerated. He stated that any staff member found guilty of such misconduct would face immediate dismissal from the Corps.

His message underscores a commitment to transparency and accountability, which he believes are essential for fostering public trust in the FRSC.

In addition to addressing corruption, Maaji encouraged his personnel to align with the Corps Marshall’s policies, which focus on enhancing the public image of the FRSC.

He urged all staff to put forth their best efforts in service delivery, highlighting the importance of professionalism and ethical conduct in their daily interactions with the public.

Maaji believes that the actions of each staff member contribute to the overall perception of the Corps, and he wants to build a positive reputation that reflects the organization’s commitment to road safety.

To further engage the community, Maaji announced plans to introduce a monthly stakeholders’ forum. This initiative aims to create greater awareness about road safety issues and encourage collaboration between the FRSC and local community members.

By fostering open communication, Maaji hopes to build stronger partnerships that can enhance the effectiveness of the Corps in addressing road safety challenges in the state.

During his address, Maaji also expressed gratitude to the state government and media representatives who were present to welcome him. He acknowledged their support and emphasized that collaboration with various stakeholders is vital for achieving the FRSC’s goals.

Looking ahead, the new Sector Commander assured the public that he would prioritize road safety and promote safe driving practices throughout Katsina.

He called on his staff to redouble their commitment to their responsibilities, reminding them that their actions have a direct impact on the safety of the roads and the well-being of motorists.

Furthermore, Maaji appealed to road users and other stakeholders to continue supporting the FRSC.

He emphasized that cooperation is essential for the organization to fulfill its mandate effectively and to work towards reducing the number of road accidents and traffic-related incidents in the state. By coming together, he believes that they can create a safer driving environment for everyone.

The leadership of CC Aliyu Maaji promises to bring a renewed focus on integrity, community engagement, and road safety to the Katsina Sector Command.

His proactive approach aims to inspire confidence in the FRSC and ensure that it plays a pivotal role in promoting safe driving practices across the state.
