The Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has expressed his belief that the full significance of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership will be appreciated by Nigerians in the coming decades.
Writing a tribute to the president on his birthday, Keyamo emphasized that the impact of Tinubu’s policies and
political moves would only be fully recognized by future generations, highlighting the long-term value he has added to
the nation’s democracy.
In his tribute, Keyamo reflected on Tinubu’s instrumental role in shaping the political landscape of Nigeria. He noted
that the president’s involvement in pivotal movements like the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) in the 1990s
was key in the struggle to restore democratic governance after years of military rule.
Keyamo also praised Tinubu for his consistent efforts to foster democratic coalitions, particularly in forming the All
Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015, which helped oust the then-dominant People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from power.
Keyamo, who witnessed Tinubu’s tenacious rise to the presidency, also recalled how the president faced significant
challenges within his own party in securing the 2023 presidential ticket of the APC.
Despite these struggles, Keyamo highlighted Tinubu’s determination and resilience, which ultimately led him to
triumph in the presidential election.

According to Keyamo, since Tinubu assumed office, the president has made bold and decisive actions that will leave
lasting effects on Nigeria’s future. He pointed to key reforms such as the removal of petrol subsidies and the floating
of the Naira, marking significant shifts in the country’s economic trajectory. These actions, he argues, have put Nigeria
on a sustainable growth path, signaling an era of transformative economic progress.
Keyamo further emphasized that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is set to experience rapid developments across
various sectors in the near future. As the country navigates through bold economic reforms, Keyamo believes these
efforts will yield a healthier economy, more jobs, and the eventual stabilization of the middle class.
He expressed confidence that the president’s vision for long-term economic growth would ultimately transform
Nigeria into a prosperous nation. While the immediate benefits of Tinubu’s policies might not be evident to everyone
today, Keyamo is certain that future generations will look back and fully appreciate the far-reaching impact of Tinubu’s leadership.
In his view, the president’s bold approach to addressing Nigeria’s systemic challenges will secure his place in the country’s democratic history.
