Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, praised Peter Mbah during the launch of Enugu Air operations.
Keyamo praises Peter Mbah as one of Nigeria’s top-performing governors, despite being a member of the opposition PDP.
Speaking at the event in Enugu, Keyamo said Mbah’s leadership threatens the political confidence of rival parties.
He humorously admitted, “Peter Mbah, you’re in PDP, but your performance scares us politically. We’re strategizing already.”
Keyamo praises Peter Mbah without reservations, stating that his progressive spirit deserves national recognition beyond party affiliations.
He encouraged politicians across party lines to appreciate leaders who deliver tangible development to their people without bias.
Beyond commendation, Keyamo urged the Enugu State Government to run Enugu Air professionally and free from political interference.
He warned against allowing the airline to collapse like Nigerian Airways, emphasizing the need for operational efficiency and independence.
“Ensure Enugu Air avoids the bureaucracy that crippled past ventures. Let it reflect reliability in every departure and arrival,” he said.
Enugu Air will operate with three Embraer E170 and E190 jets chosen for efficiency and comfort on regional routes.
Initial flights will form a triangular network linking Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos, aiming to improve intercity air connectivity in Nigeria.
Future plans include expanding to Owerri, Port Harcourt, Benin, Kano, and other economically strategic Nigerian cities over time.
Keyamo praises Peter Mbah for launching an initiative poised to reshape Enugu’s economic outlook and Nigeria’s aviation industry.
He concluded by affirming the Federal Government’s support for innovative projects that boost state economies and create employment opportunities.
Enugu Air symbolizes a new chapter in regional aviation and underscores how visionary leadership can transcend political affiliations successfully.
