The Kogi NYCN Chapter has endorsed Babangida Onimisi Isah for National President in the 2025 NYCN Congress.
Elders, stakeholders, and 21 LG coordinators declared support for Babangida Onimisi Isah after a strategic stakeholders meeting.
In their communique, they called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to support Babangida Onimisi Isah with necessary resources.
The endorsement, signed June 16, 2025, urges moral, financial, and logistical backing for the respected Kogi-born youth leader.

The council stated that the Northern Region should produce NYCN’s next national president, backing Isah as consensus candidate.
They praised Governor Ododo for continuing youth inclusion and empowerment policies initiated by his predecessor, Yahaya Adoza Bello.
They described Isah as highly competent, experienced, and ready to unify and elevate the NYCN nationally and globally.
His previous roles include Okene NYCN Coordinator and SSA on Youth Affairs during the Yahaya Bello-led Kogi administration.
He currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi.

The Kogi NYCN elders believe Isah’s national candidacy will bring renewed dignity, innovation, and vision to Nigerian youths.
Stakeholders urged all state chapters and youth bodies nationwide to support Isah’s emergence as NYCN’s next national president.

Past state chairmen gives endorsement

The letter, signed by over ten notable former state chairmen and youth stakeholders, also called attention to the historical impact of the Kogi NYCN chapter at the national level. Notably, Ambassador Oladele John Nihi, a Kogi native currently serving as Vice President of the Pan African Youth Union, led the NYCN Congress Planning Committee with Babangida Isah as the Chairman of the Congress Committee.

The Council of Elders and Stakeholders also commended the ongoing groundwork being championed by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Comrade Monday Anyebe, whose proactive engagement is helping galvanize broad-based support across the northern region.

The Council of elders and Stakeholders appealed for the governor’s support, stating that Babangida’s victory would further enhance Kogi State’s political relevance and visibility at the national stage.

The letter was jointly signed by:

Dr. Haroun Opotu Yusuff, Pioneer State Chairman

Comrade Bala Ibrahim, Former State Chairman

Engr. S.B. Godwin, Former State Chairman

Comrade Farouq S. Mazai, Former State Chairman

Amb. Oladele Nihi John, Former State Chairman

Comrade Isreal Alonge, Former State Chairman

Abdullahi Rufai, Stakeholder

Isa Emmanuel Ojoduene, Stakeholder

Abdulrahman Idris, Stakeholder
