The Kwara State Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to apprehend those responsible for the murder of retired controller of works, Abdulrazaq Ajani, in Ilorin. Ajani was tragically killed on Wednesday, an incident that has shocked the local community.
Speaking on Friday, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, reaffirmed the police’s resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice. “The Kwara Police Command assures the family that those involved in this dastardly act will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” she said.
Although no arrests have been made, Ejire-Adeyemi stated that police detectives are actively investigating the case. She extended the Command’s condolences to the Ajani family, praying for strength and comfort for them in this difficult time. “We pray for the repose of the soul of their beloved father and assure the public that further updates will be provided as investigations progress,” she added.
The retired controller was reportedly murdered by four individuals who trailed him to his residence on Dele Gege Street, Tanke area of Ilorin, shortly after he and his family returned from Offa, their hometown, where they had celebrated the New Year. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The shocking nature of the attack has left the community in grief and demanding swift action. Authorities continue to work towards unravelling the circumstances behind the murder and ensuring that justice is served.
